Last month, Samsung launched the Galaxy Watch 8 and the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, its latest flagship smartwatches. Earlier this month, the brand released the first software update to the two wearables, which didn’t offer anything significant. Now, the brand is rolling the second software update to these smartwatches as well as the Galaxy Watch Ultra. This one improves their security.

The latest software update for the Galaxy Watch 8 series and the Galaxy Watch Ultra offers the August 2025 security patch, which fixes many security issues. You can check them out here. The update for the Galaxy Watch 8 series carries firmware version L320XXS1AYH7 and that for the Galaxy Watch Ultra carries firmware version L705NKOS1BYH6 (via SammyFans).

To update your Galaxy Watch 8 and the Galaxy Watch Ultra to the latest firmware, on your smartphone, open the Galaxy Wearable app, and go to Watch settings » Watch software update » Download and install.

Going by the screenshots, the update is live in Korea. Samsung could also be rolling it out in other regions but there’s no concrete information on that front. To get more updates about Samsung delivered to you, subscribe to our channel on Telegram or WhatsApp.
