However, relying solely on your device comes at a cost of some advanced Galaxy AI features that run in the cloud. These lists pertain to Galaxy AI features available in One UI 7. However, newer firmware updates, including One UI 8.5, can and will add more Galaxy AI features, so these lists can contain different items depending on the firmware version you’re running.
All in all, Samsung offers a fair range of on-device Galaxy AI features for both productivity and personalization, so you can get more than a sense of the AI’s capabilities even if you don’t want to send any data to the cloud.
Whether this will change in the future remains to be seen. Fans have been worrying that Samsung might push some Galaxy AI features behind a paywall eventually, but the company confirmed earlier this year that every Galaxy AI feature that ships with your phone by default will remain free forever. But whether these AI features will all make a slow transition to the cloud remains to be determined.
